Squeeze Page Secrets

March 23, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

A squeeze page generates leads where the main purpose of the page or site captures a name and email address. Usually no links to other pages like contact or privacy information exist.

Your squeeze page will allow your subscriber to download a gift like a free e-book or report. You need very good sales copy on the page that will make them want to give their name and email address to download your free gift. You can test the effectiveness of your squeeze page by using a tool like Google analytics and measure how many visitors actually convert to subscribers. 30% rates as a good figure. Audio and video added to your squeeze page could increase your conversion rate to as high as 50%.

You need to integrate your squeeze page with your mailing list or auto responder. This means you will have to put html in your squeeze page to opt in to your autoresponder. You also need to send your mailing list targeted email offers. So for example if your mailing list targets golf you can send an offer for sample golf balls. You need to mail responsibly otherwise you will lose subscribers as they opt out of your mailing list when you send spam mails.

The squeeze page technique seems very popular. All the top internet marketers use it and they recommend this technique to all their customers. The bigger your list the more money you make. However, one needs to refine the skill of list building as you only make money from subscribers who actually buy.

Are You Linking Your Way to Obscurity?

March 22, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

Do you participate in link exchange? You may be confused about how having links on your website benefits you. In fact you could be linking your way into obscurity. Did you ever consider that each link to another website is an invitation to leave your site? Is that really what you want – to invite people to leave?

Your focus should be on getting more links pointing to your website. This increases your traffic and search engine rankings. However, the more outbound links you have on your webpage, the more it weakens your Google page rank as well you are asking your visitors
to click on those outbound links and visit someone elses website.

Search engines are really only interested in links to your site which are from a site that has similar content as your own. Apparently, there is evidence to suggest that having links from sites that are not relevant to the content of your own, can even damage your position with the search engines.

Link exchange can be a good thing but there are few things to keep in mind:

1.As said before having too many outbound links on your site invites your visitors to leave and may damage your search engine ranking.

2.Exchanging links with sites with poor quality content or a poor page rank can hurt your rankings.

3.Having a link directory on your site doesnt encourage Google to crawl your site more. And just because Google is crawling your site more, doesnt necessarily mean that you are going to improve your ranking.

4.If you must have outbound links make them worth your while ie. affiliate links or other promotions.

Yes, link exchanging can be helpful but there are other ways that you can get lots of inbound links for your site, without having to provide reciprocal links. And these methods tend to be more effective.

1. Write short articles, 300 to 500 words, on subjects closely related to your site, and then distribute them over the internet through various article directories. People who are looking for content for their websites, or newsletters, can then look through the article directories to find fresh content. If they choose to publish your article, they then have to include a link back to your website from their site. Just a few articles can get you 50 inbound links.

2. Submit a press release – this won’t always get you a large number of inbound links, but it can get you top ten listing.

3. Make sure your site is listed in some of the directories across the internet.

4. Start an affiliate program.

5. Create a viral marketing campaign. You could try a free short ebook that contains some useful information, and a link back to your site, which people are allowed to distribute freely.

The last thing you want to do is to link your way out of business. Be wise when you participate in link exchange and apply some other methods to gain quality traffic to your website.

You Need a Comprehensive Plan to Increase Website Traffic

March 21, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

There is a lot more to hatching plans to increase website traffic than simply trying to use tricks to lure unsuspecting visitors to your site. Sure, this type of thing may get people there who may enjoy what you have to offer, but you can’t be sure your tactics will be effective. What if the person is the type who will glance around for a moment and decide to be somewhere else instead? When you increase website traffic, you have to get the right people to your site. What you really need to increase website traffic is to lure people who absolutely have to have what you’re offering or the information you present. What you need is quality traffic.

The way to increase website traffic that will work best for your site is to use a two-prong approach. First, you have to appeal to the search engines. If the search engines don’t know about your site, the people who would want to visit your site won’t know about it. In order to get the search engines’ attention, you have to use keywords, and use them well. One way to do that is to place them in the title of your website, and in the titles of your pages or posts. Keyword usage is a great tool to improve your search engine rankings. Other things like updating your site often help as well.

Many people stop there. They think that if they can just put enough spider bait in their sites, they will increase website traffic to the point of making the site successful. Some even use less-than-ethical techniques like burying keywords outside the website and clustering keywords in the site, creating text that isn’t pleasant to read and sometimes doesn’t make a lot of sense. Search engine spiders are getting wise to that sort of thing and penalizing websites, but that type of tactic also tends to turn actual human beings away as well. What you need to do to get more quality traffic to your site is to make sure that once people come they will enjoy what they find.

That means you need to focus your content, make sure it is good content, and make sure the content is what it says it is. Nothing turns off a potential customer or reader like false advertising or the old bait-and-switch routine. Don’t lure someone to your site with promises of tutorials only to show them a site that is 10-percent tutorials and 90-percent advertisement for your book. If the site is about your book, state up front that it’s about your book. Nothing will increase website traffic like good content that is focused and delivers what is promised.

One of the other options to increase website traffic is to buy traffic to your site, which can be a good alternative for those who earn revenue from third-party advertisements and clicks. If you’re looking for quality traffic that earns you revenue from return customers, though, bought traffic may not be the best solution for your internet needs.

OpenID Technology

March 9, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

Technology is moving at a rapid pace, the emerging technologies of this century are simply amazing. It’s plain to see that everything is slowly moving towards a centralized database of information. A new open-source technology takes advantage of this knowledge and develops an open-source solution. This way nobody will own the database, it will be stewarded by the non-profit organization OpenID Foundation. It’s as Brad Fitzpatrick (the father of OpenID) said, “Nobody should own this. Nobody’s planning on making any money from this. The goal is to release every part of this under the most liberal licenses possible, so there’s no money or licensing or registering required to play. It benefits the community as a whole if something like this exists, and we’re all a part of the community.”

You can also see what they have to say about their software on the website http://openid.net

“OpenID eliminates the need for multiple usernames across different websites, simplifying your online experience.

You get to choose the OpenID Provider that best meets your needs and most importantly that you trust. At the same time, your OpenID can stay with you, no matter which Provider you move to. And best of all, the OpenID technology is not proprietary and is completely free.

For businesses, this means a lower cost of password and account management, while drawing new web traffic. OpenID lowers user frustration by letting users have control of their login.

For geeks, OpenID is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity. OpenID takes advantage of already existing internet technology (URI, HTTP, SSL, Diffie-Hellman) and realizes that people are already creating identities for themselves whether it be at their blog, photostream, profile page, etc. With OpenID you can easily transform one of these existing URIs into an account which can be used at sites which support OpenID logins.

OpenID is still in the adoption phase and is becoming more and more popular, as large organizations like AOL, Microsoft, Sun, Novell, etc. begin to accept and provide OpenIDs. Today it is estimated that there are over 160-million OpenID enabled URIs with nearly ten-thousand sites supporting OpenID logins.”

And if you are wondering how you can get openID you may be surprised to learn that you probably already have one. If you are a member of any of the following websites then you already have an openID account.

Traffic Tips Made Easy

March 9, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

plug it

As a small business owner, your biggest concern is getting traffic to your site and building a good relationship with your customers.Without traffic a website barely exists, and we shouldn’t even talk about profit. We will try to see here the most important steps to attract targeted traffic.

Beginners in internet usually make the mistake to want any kind of traffic and therefore they get themselves into programs that offer tens of thousands of hits for their site, but most of them are blind hits. And after this experience they don’t manage a thing and they give up the idea they could ever do something.

For those who try to learn from they experience, they have to come to the conclusion that the only type of traffic they need is targeted traffic. They need real interested visitors, not visitors forced by a traffic generating system to enter their site.

So, let’s go over the five steps:

1. Affiliate programs – These programs consist of giving part of your profit to those who help you sell. In time you can get a true army of promoters that will advertise for you. This is done not just for internet sites; it is also done in real life, by big companies.

2. Adding content – Adding high quality content to your site you will make an ideal instrument to always increase traffic. Search engines provide the highest position to the most relevant site for the given keyword. So your content must be well thought, containing the terms you are selling or proving many times, but being still easy to read.

3. Creating content materials – While you search for material to add to your site, others are searching for sites that publish content. Creating some article or newsletter will allow you to add it immediately to your site, but you can also give it to others along with a link to your site.

4. Publishing through Ezines – A good way to achieve a number of loyal visitors is to occasionally announce everyone that chooses to be announced of news and new products. Publishing quality information in the sent emails will give a boost to your credibility and you will build a serious amount of loyal visitors.

5. Pay per Click Search Engines – When using such engines, you will pay to increase your rank for various keywords used in searches. If the keywords are chosen properly, you will be paying only for the visitors your are interested in.

Good sources of traffic are not always easy to find, but they are definitely worth the effort.

Girlfriend Software

March 1, 2008 · Posted in News · Comment

I was sent this by email from a friend of mine, it was a little hard to follow, but funny never the less.

I’m currently running the latest version of GirlFriend and I have been having some problems lately. I have been running the same version of DrinkingBuddies 1.0 forever as my primary application, and all the Girlfriend releases I have tried have always conflicted with it. I hear that Drinking Buddies runs fine as long as Girlfriend is ran in background mode and the sound is turned off.

Unfortunately, I can’t find the switch to turn the sound off. Therefore, I have to run both of them separately. Girlfriend also seems to have a problem coexisting with my Golf program, often trying to abort Golf with some form of timing incompatibilities.

I probably should have stayed with Girlfriend 1.0, but I thought I might see better performance from GirlFriend 2.0. After months of conflicts and other problems, I consulted a friend who has had experience with Girlfriend 2.0. He said I probably didn’t have enough cache to run Girlfriend 2.0 and eventually it would require a Token Ring to run properly. He was right, as soon as I purged my cache, and realized that no one in their right mind is installing new token rings, Girlfriend 2.0 uninstalled itself.

Shortly after that, I installed Girlfriend 3.0 beta. Unfortunately, there was a bug in the program and the first time I used it, it gave me a virus. I had to clean out my whole system and shut down for a while. I very cautiously upgraded to Girlfriend 4.0. This time I used SCSI probe first and also installed a virus protection program. It worked okay for a while until I discovered that GirlFriend 1.0 was still in my system. I tried running Girlfriend 1.0 again with Girlfriend 4.0 still installed, but Girlfriend 4.0 has a feature I didn’t know about that automatically senses the presence of any other version of Girlfriend and communicates with it in some way. This results in the immediate removal of both versions.

The version I have now works pretty well, but there are still some problems. Like all versions of GirlFriend, it is written in some obscure language I can’t understand, much less reprogram. Frankly, I think there is too much attention paid to the look and feel rather than the desired functionality.

Also, to get the best connections with your hardware, you usually have to use gold-plated contacts and I have never liked how GirlFriend is “object-oriented.”

A year ago a friend of mine upgraded his version of Girlfriend to GirlFriendPlus 1.0, which is a Terminate and Stay Resident version of GirlFriend. He discovered that GirlFriendPlus 1.0 expires within a year if you don’t upgrade to Fiance 1.0. So he did, but soon after that, he had to upgrade to Wife 1.0, which he describes as a huge resource hog. It has taken up all his space: He can’t load anything else. One of the primary reasons he decided to go with Wife 1.0 was because it supposedly came bundled with a feature called FreeSex Plus.

Well, it turns out the resource requirements of Wife 1.0 sometimes prohibits access to FreeSexPlus, particularly the new Plug-ins he wanted to try. On top of that, Wife 1.0 must be running on a well warmed-up system before he can do anything. Although he did not ask for it, Wife 1.0 came with MotherInLaw which has an automatic pop-up feature he can’t turn off. I told him to trying installing Mistress 1.0, but he said he heard if you try to run it without first uninstalling Wife 1.0, Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before uninstalling itself. Then Mistress 1.0 won’t install because of insufficient resources.

P.S. Watch out for the K-I-D-S virus because they have an insatiable appetite for memory and CPU time over and above everything else above.
