Cats are the Best

My kitties were born the night I came home from having a bi-lateral mastectomy! The mamma cat needed me there,
it was her 1st litter. I set her up with a birthing box and waited with her as long as I could. I put her in our tiled bathroom to
make it easier to clean up after the birth. We found homes for all Mel’s litter mates. The mother cat, Snoop Dog (yes, snoop
dog, she was always snooping as a kitten; ran off one day when she got out the door. We look for her still) But, now Mel was
alone. So, luckily another cat ,a stray my cousin took in gave birth to Mel’s half sister (about 3 weeks after Mel was born , same
daddy cat) Tiger. She was a little thing, her mom being a stray. But, it was as if they knew they were 1/2 sisters, and took to
each other right away. All through chemo sickness my girls were there, my living teddies, purring and just generally wanting to
be there for me. They get upset if there isn’t room for both on my lap, they try to sit and not attack my yarn when I am doing
a project. I know there will be pets in heaven, and all my beloved cats will be waiting for me. They are so loving and even pat
my face n hand when I cry, they just seem to know when I need some love and deliver 10 fold. I am a cancer survivor.
