My Girl
My girl, Kiwi, came to live with me and my husband 4 years ago. She was my sister’s cat, but she was going into the military and could no longer keep
her. So I told her I would take care of her. Kiwi has been a blessing to me!!! She seems to always know when I am sad or in pain and she comes to comfort me.
My story is about Kiwi helping deal with a miscarriage 3 years ago. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant and when it happened we were very
happy. Then when I was only 8 weeks pregnant, I started to bleed really bad. We rushed to the hospital where they told us the sad news of our loss. I had to
have a D C. When we came home from the hospital, Kiwi was there for me as I lay in my bed crying over the loss of my baby. Kiwi came to me and curled up
on my stomach as if she was trying to replace the heartbeat that was no longer there. She would purr me to sleep–the loudest purr I have ever heard her
make and I have never heard it again either. She was there for me when I was pregnant again and when I was put on bed rest she always watched over me
and kept me comfortable. When I had to be put on hospital bed rest for 3 months I had missed her so much!!! I would cry for her and my husband said that he
felt she missed me too cause she wasn’t acting her usual self. When I finally got to come home–still pregnant–she was so happy to see me and I too was very
happy to finally hold her again!!! She would lay on my side and purr as if she were purring for the baby inside me. Now my baby is 8 months old and Kiwi watches
over him all the time. When he naps, she naps nearby. When he cries, she leaves to come get me. I love my Kiwi so much!!!!!!! She has been there for me for
many ups and downs and never judges me. She just listens quietly and looks at me with her big green eyes as if she is telling me that things will be all right.
Thank you for letting me share my story with you.
