Scaredy Dog
The war between cats and dogs is an old story, as we know. Although I’ve seen cats that are afraid of dogs, Jack, is the fear of the dogs in our neighborhood. When Jack came to live with me, he was a housecat who was left on the streets by his previous owner and Isbquo;m sure he endured many things that werensbquo;t so good. Hesbquo;s now a well cared for and loved housecat and has made it clear he doesnsbquo;t like dogs. A Pug and a Doberman live in the neighborhood and they like to visit me occasionally to listen to my piano music. During the spring, I leave the windows up and the Doberman will sit outside for a concert. Jack will have none of that. When the Doberman was sitting at the window, Jack perched himself on the windowsill and hissed at her. The Doberman took off and no longer comes into our yard now. The Pug came in the yard and wanted to play our usual game of catch. I was on the screened porch with Jack who saw the pug, hissed and the pug without stopping turned and ran. I have not seen him in a few weeks. I wonder if Jack knows anything about his disappearance. I really believe Jack thinks hesbquo;s a watch cat and as long as hesbquo;s around, I’ll always feel safe.
